Somehow preparing for my first booth this summer would occasionally strike panic into my soul, but getting my materials together for my second one this weekend… nothing but content excitement. I go home after work, set up my couch for painting, and go to town with a smile on my face.
September 15th and 16th, this weekend, I will have the distinct pleasure of presenting my art to another river of festival goers at Wine and Harvest.
This year, I have gone through a roller coaster of attitudes toward making art and being an artist, and I have finally allowed myself to remember that it’s all about being happy with how I spend my time in the end. Am I making beautiful stuff that gives people the feels? Good. I am set in life.
After this weekend, if I make a few dollars, I will look forward to getting myself a graphics tablet to give it a whirl for the first time since high school. New canvases are in order. And PAINT. Lots and lots of paint to start experimenting with more texture and possibly 3-D media.
Huge thanks for all the love of my big extended art- and Sophia-loving family!
Let’s have some fun this weekend!
